Welcome to the Nutrition Science section of Mental Momentum Research. This vertical delivers deep, evidence-based analyses at the intersection of metabolic health, cellular bioenergetics, and cognitive performance. Rather than relying on popular trends, our research synthesizes clinical trials and physiological mechanisms to understand how what we consume shapes our brains and bodies.

A primary focus of our research is the biology of metabolic regulation and weight management. We examine the physiological defense mechanisms that resist weight loss, including how adaptive thermogenesis lowers resting metabolic rate and how evolutionary survival mechanisms and dopamine pathways drive cravings for sugar and ultra-processed foods. We also examine the growing field of nutritional psychiatry, reviewing clinical evidence for dietary interventions like the Mediterranean diet in managing mental illness.
